It seems forever since anyone has posted here. Not to slight the few that have been posting either. LOL Lets see how many we can get to answer to this post. Give a little info on what they have been up to.

Okay, I'll start.....

My youngest little baby bird is going to graduate from High School on this Sunday!!!! I'm trying to deal with all the feelings that go with this moment. Like when I first brought him home from the hospital and all the living that goes on in between then and now. All the stepping stones, life lessons and wonderful accomplishments he has done. I have two sons, our oldest graduated 2 years ago, living out on his own and doing great. It was so hard to let him go. Now, the last and youngest is fixing to do the same. You know you tell yourself, as a parent, "I can't wait to get them raised." But, when that moment comes, it is the last thing you really want to happen. I'm just trying to keep my head above the water and the water being all these emotions. Just stay busy, just keep your head down and it will all be okay! I know it will, I really know it will.

So how about everyone else?

I know the feeling! It was easier for me, I think, because my son spent two years living out of state with his dad after high school. I missed him when he left, but it wasn't too bad because he was still with a parent. Now he's back here, and lived with us for about 7 months until the beginning of April when he and his girlfriend got a house. He only lives 5 blocks from here, and I see him a couple of times a week, so it's not bad at all. And I have a spare room now that's been turned into the video game room. Though I do miss playing games on the big tv in the living room. LOL.

Sheesh! I can't even figure out how to post to the original message. Anyways, just checking out the place. I can't believe it's the end of the Hearth. Another forum I hung out at became a paid site, so now what am I going to do? Maybe get reacquainted with family and friends, ha!

What have I been up to? Just gestating. :D I'm 30 weeks today. The 10 week countdown starts! I'm totally exhausted, though -- not getting enough sleep.

I'll try to stop by tomorrow. :D

thanks to Kimmy for the email and url..I had lost it...

god, this just sucks about Paula leaving...I am really going to miss the hearth..I hope the people gather here, so many of them have become like friends:-)
Thanks Pammie for having this little corner of the internet for us to gather...

And Kimmy...It's good to see you..I kinda figured that was what was up when you exited DP...Hugs..

As for the birdies leaving the nest, I can soon relate. My oldest is now six months pregnant and is busy buying furniture etc. for her new apartment...She'll be moving out about a month after the baby is born...I want her to be here right after so I can sort of help her out during first couple of weeks then I am kicking her outta the nest..it will be awful..*wiping a tear*

I cannot imagine myself ever without kids..Likely when mine are all grown and gone I will do more fostering..

Hugs to all and good to see everyone...
Can we get Clint, Bryan, Janie, Rawlin and Ethan here too? And ari? We gotta have someone to pick on..LOL

I know this must be really difficult for you Kim. As parents we focus on our children so much that we are left with a void when we feel that our "job" is nearing an end. But really it's not an ending as much as taking on a new role in our kids lives. It's different but can be equally rewarding.

You need to take some time to pat yourself on the back for a job well done. It's not easy to raise children, and you've raised two fine young men. Your guidance has given them the knowledge and strength to be independent. Be proud of that accomplishment.

I stopped in to see if this place had come back to life with the demise of The Hearth. Looks like it has.

Not sure where I'll call home now. But glad to see Kimmy hasn't disappeared from the face of the earth, just the hearth! :)

So what have I been up to? I'm taking two classes this term so I've been doing lots of homework. Also have done a bit of traveling both business and personal and am ready to just stay home. I've gotten a start on my flower beds but need a nice weekend to do a whole lot more.

Hi Tricia! I so sad to see the hearth end. Thank you for you warm and kind words to me. It means alot.

Flowers! Lets talk flowers! I need at least a week to get my yard where it needs to be. Planted some wavying petunias and then thanks to Kansas weather, they were pounding into the dirt, but good! I'm hoping they will come out of it and be just fine, have to wait and see on that one. I love getting out in the dirt and planting flowers. I'm not a veggie garden type, but you say flowers, I'm there. :-) Replanted a bunch of creeping phlox around my trees. They took quite a beating this winter and I'm hoping they take off where I transplanted them. My irises are all in bloom and so are my peonies. My lilac bush is in full bloom and outside my front door smells like heaven. I love this time of year, but fall is a big fav of mine too. What kinds of flowers do you have in your flower beds?

Well I had planted bulbs last fall and so I had tulips, daffodils, crocuses and grape hyacinth (spelled that wrong I think). So they have all been done blooming for weeks!!! But I'm waiting for the leaves to brown up a bit more before I cut them down, the daffodils are ready to be cut this weekend, the tulips could be another 2 weeks or so. I don't want to cut them down too soon or they won't come back up next year.

So far I've planted 5 hanging baskets and three pots. I can't tell you what most of them are! LOL I just go buy stuff that will bloom all season and work well in pots and with low moisture in case I forget to water them!

I plan to cut down the daffodils this weekend and will put some summer flowers out there, maybe impatiens cause they did so well last year. I have a small flowerbed up close to the back of my house that is very dry soil and gets full sun in the afternoon and there I am going to plant some day lillies (yellow) and some small purple flowers and some white flowered ground cover. It is allsupposed to be good with very little water in dry soil and full sun. And they are perennials so hopefully they will come back year after year!

My daffodils and all the early flowers are already gone. I'm needing to get my summer flowers in or it will be too late. I love impatiens. They do really well here too. I have a ton of those old fashioned corn lilies all around the house. They just are so hardy and keep coming year after year. Had some glads for a while, by the darn grasshoppers did them in. I plant a ton of morning glories on my fences. They are so lush and great coverings.

I found a flight tracker site that is pretty darn cool!

I'm taking a half day -- resisting the temptation to take an early lunch and leave it at that. My place looks cleaner than it did before I moved in!

Oh, and I'm really bummed about the Hearth.

Well, it's been awhile! I stop in every once and a while to see what's happening but it's usually been so dead. This place though, not to slight anyone here, doesn't bring back alot of good memories for some of us. Maybe it's just me eh? LOL

Not sure where I'll end up... probably no where at all. Too much time spent online anyway... life is so much more interesting. Well, usually anyway... LOL

Nice to see how some are going to be keeping in touch. :-)
