Good morning y'all! In recent days the FATHER has been impressing my heart with a need for more prayer and less talk. We talk a lot about praying, we read about it, we think about it, we can go to seminars about it, but ARE WE DOING IT? I thought this morning that if we would only ask a couple of people what are some things we could pray about for them specifically we could all devote more time to prayer. As I sat this morning and prayed and asked the LORD to give me a heart that is constant communication with HIM I realized that there is so much to pray about and for that we really could start and not stop. Ladies, with all of my heart I want to be a woman that GOD can use...I believe this starts on our knees before our FATHER. If we never come before HIM and pour ourselves out and ask HIM to empty us of who we are and fill us up with who HE is, HOW CAN WE EVER BE LIKE HIM? I went back to Nehemiah 9 again this morning. The great majority of this chapter is a prayer to GOD. A prayer of remembrance of all that GOD had brought them through. The chapter is rich, there is so much here and so much that can be applied to our lives today, but I want to look at verses 32&33. Now therefore, O our GOD, the great, mighty and awesome GOD, who keeps HIS covenant of love, do not let all this hardship seem trifling in YOUR eyes--The hardship that has come upon us, upon our kings and leaders, upon our priests and prophets, upon our fathers and all your people, from the days of the kings of Assyria until today. IN ALL THAT HAS HAPPENED TO US, YOU HAVE BEEN JUST; YOU HAVE ACTED FAITHFULLY, WHILE WE DID WRONG.
In the verses that preceded these verses Nehemiah gave us a catalog of all that GOD had done for this people. Throughout this prayer he said several different times, "But they refused to listen; They became arrogant; They were disobedient; They did evil in your sight." These words make my heart shutter. Why? Because ladies, within each of us is the propensity to be just like these disobedient children of Israel. GOD has done so much for us. HE has restored our relationship with HIM time and time again, and yet, we continue to stray away from HIM. We find ourselves in places that we don't want to be, involved in situations that we can't figure out how we got into and how in the world we will get out of, and we stand and we blame the GOD of heaven. I would dare say that most of our hardships are brought on us by our own willful acts of disobedience, arrogance, and even just plain doing what is evil in HIS SIGHT. What do I think is the solution to this issue? It is exactly what the children of Israel were doing in Nehemiah 9. They were getting right with their GOD. Ladies, they had come to the place where they had to realize that the only way to true happiness and satisfaction in life is to live the way GOD created us to live. They had come to the place where they were on a quest for holiness. How about you? We will never be truly happy apart from the holiness that GOD created us to live in. HE has called us to HOLY LIVING...WHAT ARE WE DOING ABOUT IT? Is this the daily desire of your heart? Is it the daily desire of mine? If it is not then something has gone awry and we need to stop and go to our knees and ask GOD to change our hearts and give us a burning desire for HIS HOLINESS.
FATHER, call us to our knees again. Call us to a place that we can only get to by coming humbly and falling before YOU. Teach us to come regularly and consistently before YOUR throne. O FATHER, do a work in our lives today that could only be credited to YOU. Break our hearts over our own sinful, arrogant, disobedient, and even evil ways. We don't like to see our lives through this light, but GOD may we see ourselves the way YOU see us. May we be broken before YOU so that YOU can put us back together the way YOU intended us to be. FATHER, fill our hearts with a consuming desire to walk with YOU and YOU ALONE. May we never get used to all that YOU have done in our lives. When we begin to wander and stray DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO DRAW US BACK CLOSE TO YOUR HEART. I love you. I want to love you more. MAKE ME ALL THAT YOU CREATED ME TO BE!
I pray this prayer IN the MATCHLESS NAME OF JESUS. AMEN!
Thanks for coming today ladies. Have a wonderful day. Seek HIS FACE.
ONLY and ALWAYS Because of JESUS-
Vicky
