Good morning ladies! I pray that you are having a wonderful December thus far. My prayer for each of you is that you are remembering that the reason that we have this season of the year is because our GOD loved us so much that HE GAVE! I realize that I have said that many times lately, but I do not believe that we can overemphasize it...especially not at this time of the year. In our society we want to make Christmas about us and about getting "what we want." Christmas is about GOD GIVING us what HE KNEW we would need. HE gave and gave and HE continues to give to this day. I wonder this morning, are you accepting what HE offers you? Are you choosing HIM or are you choosing you? Let's look at a couple of verses from Isaiah 66 and then from Proverbs 7.
The last line in Isaiah 66:3 and verse 4 says: They have chosen their own ways, and their souls delight in their abonminations; so I also will choose harsh treatment for them and will bring upon them what they dread. For when I called, no one answered, when I spoke, no one listened. They did evil in my sight AND CHOSE what displeases me.
Look at Proverbs 7:1-3: My son, keep MY WORDS and store up my commands within you. Keep MY commands and you will live; guard MY teaching as the apple of your eye! Bind them on your fingers, write them on the tablet of your heart.
Ladies, it is clear to me this morning we have to make a conscious choice to serve GOD and follow HIM. Often times it is easier to do the thing that "everyone else" is doing, but that is not ususally in keeping with HIS WORD. I read through Isaiah 66 this morning and this theme of choices kept coming to my heart...as I flipped over and read through the Psalms for today and then onto Proverbs the FATHER again said to me, "Vicky, it IS about choices." I will leave you this morning asking you this: Are you making choices that sugget that you are keeping HIS WORD ever in the forfront of your mind or do they sugget that you are choosing your own ways!
Taking the time every day to spend with HIM in HIS WORD in a great way to bind them on your fingers and write them on the tablet of your heart. I hope that you will make the CHOICE to spend time with HIM and follow HIM wholeheartedly!
