I agree that if everybody likes the same thing it would be a very boring world and we'd have nothing to write about! Everyone is inevitably gonna promote the cause of the particular sub-genre of punk that they like - that's why gigs should include different bands that play different styles of music together! This way people will be more exposed to all different types of music and therefore can legitimately make better informed decisions of bands rather than just going on what some music journo writes about them in Kerrang! or whatever. Personally i like non-mainstream pop-punk, ska-punk, post-hardcore and even some hardcore and i would love to see more gigs from bands that fit into each of these sub-genres. I saw Steel Rules Die last summer at the Adelphi and they were very good and as i remember it the turnout was very disappointing which was sad as i do love that type of music.

Bad Religion wouldn't come to Hull. They barely come over to play in Europe and when they do it's nearly always in London. Why do promoters always have to be
"non-profit" as well? If nobody ever makes a profit then the level of the type of band can never progress - from small acorns big trees do grow. The "non-profit" thing is very noble, but from when what i gather (as my sister put on gigs in Sheffield) it is very hard to break even by putting on gigs.

Hey Nigel get Face to Face, Dillinger Four and Down by Law over here my man. I'd pay £10 quite happily for any of those gigs.

At the end of the day we all care about the scene here and would love to see better things happen.
