The scruffy sailor who had met with Orin earlier had been meeting with each sailor in turn, whispering harshly, then pressing a paper and pen into their hand. Sometimes eagerly, sometimes reluctantly, each sailor had signed the paper. The sailor, his name was Geof, had finally cornered Miguel and was arguing heatedly with him. "You've been with Hornblower the longest, surely you've had something to go terribly wrong on one journey or another?" Miguel had a look of confusion on his face.

"No, of course not...Hornblower is very fair...How could you be passing a round robin on him? He's had trouble with brigands, but it was nothing personal!"

Geof turned slightly so the emerging figure from the Captain's cabin would perhaps not notice them talking. However, his whispering was loud enough to be overheard by someone with sensitive hearing. "You'll sign it and mean it or the Dark One will have your head when he's through with the outsiders!" He kept glancing behind him at the hooded figure only a few paces behind them. Miguel looked angrily at Geof. He spoke a little louder, if only trying to attract some attention and get away from the insidious pirate.

"When the captain hears about this, you'll rue the day your father met your mother! Now let me..through.." As he tried to push past Geof, a couple of other scruffy looking sailors stepped out of the darkness to block poor Miguel. "I said let me through! I mean for the captain to know about this!" Geof looked ready to just punch Miguel out, but Orin had told him everyone had to sign the round robin.
