Again, as always, you get slapped around and scorned. Why did he put up with this? Why make the effort to do the right thing to begin with? Christophen, Lorenzo, pah! Don't like his treatment of the kid? Don't let the boy come smashing around his door! Blah, blah, blah, Alex, keep flapping those gums and maybe someday something would sink through to the vain young vampire. But until then, he snarled off Alex's warnings with the conviction of one who does not regret as he crouched at Alex's side, begrudgingly prepared to lend a hand however it may be needed.
