Still haven't heard from Louise Parker (Jim's granddaughter) I think she is very busy at the moment. However, I've just received some bits and pieces from Jim's brother Jack, an old school pal of mine. We now have Jim's official number, it is FX77343 so I wondered if this is any help in finding any further details of Jim in your own records.

Also Jack would like to find anything on Jim's close mate, also a TAG, they joined up together. His name was William Thomson and was taken prisoner after an Italian bombing raid. He wrote regularly to the Jukes family and Jack has sent me a couple of letters from Bill in the prison camp. The address so far as I can read it is
British Detention Camp
Laghouat
Algerie
Afrique du hord

In one letter dated 18/4/42 he mentions that the destroyer 'Havock' had been wrecked off the Tunisian coast, and all of the crew (250) had just arrived at the camp.

Jack tells me that Bill was later killed in USA. They never found the aircraft,but it is alleged that a fishing vessel saw an oil slick. Could you possibly have any info on Bill???
