Bill also tells me that Jim Jukes was flying from HMS Hermes and was actually airborne when Hermes was sunk off Ceylon by the Japs in April 1942, presumably no carrier, no other way but to ditch. Jim apparently got his feet wet 3 times.

I am James Jukes granddaughter.

sadly my grandfather died when I was 2 ('76) but I have lots of fond memories of him and also lots of stories from his wife, son and daugher (my mother).
