Subject: Salvation Army santas banned fromTarget & Best Buy!

To my dismay, I find out that major retailers like Target and Best Buy have decided to ban the Salvation Army from their doors this holiday "out of concern for customers." Concern for what? Safety? When was the last time you were heckled by a bell-ringing collector dressed in a Santa suit?

If this is not plain wrong, I do not know what is. The Salvation Army counts on the collections outside stores and their work is well-known to be honorable and caring.

I wish I could say the same about Target and Best Buy. Boycotting them was easier than I thought it would be. It's time for those retailers to live up to their claims of "community involvement."

In my area just about any time a person or family has been made homeless by disaster, or poverty, the salvation army gives them a place to stay, many times assisting in setting them up with a new permanant residence. They feed thousands of poor in my area, & give thousands of Christmas presents to poor children.

Years ago an alcoholic friend of mine, kicked the bottle for good with the help of the Salvation Army, when everybody else's efforts to get him to stop drinking stopped. Even AA couldn't get him to quit.

Boycott those who refuse to support this charity. There are other nearby stores that carry the same thing for the same price! Those stores can & should make an exception to solicitations for the Salvation Army, just for the aid they provide around the holidays alone.

When you see that ringing Santa, put a little extra in that kettle to make up for those who have banned them!
