Reg:
I got a tip from Dr Chicken on the various ceramic forums about using regular/Classic Coke as a liquid for reheating pulled pork. Says it adds that little bit of sweetness without being recognizable for what it is. At 99 cents for 2 litre bottle, it's definitely cheaper than an au jus, but I haven't tried it personally and a 600 head cater isn't the time to try it out...LOL...but something to keep in mind. Believe he recommended a ratio of 1/2 cup Coke per lb of meat and heat thru in oven/cooker/micro. I do find that Coke in the drip pan does help tenderize the meat above it, IMO anyway...it's the acetic (sp) acid in the vapours...you know, the stuff that helps Coke eat thru a penny if you let it sit for 24 hrs...LOL
