Subject: The new pit is here!

Thanks again to Mop and Earl. We arrived at the bridge in Windsor on Thurs. at about 5:30 pm with all our paperwork ready to do battle with Revenue Canada. The lady in the first booth went through the: citizenship? how long you been away? and the rest and finally asked What's that you got on behind? Long story short, we paid both GST and PST for a barbeque and drove away.
At the licence office they saw that we had paid both taxes already, looked at the title from Klose, commented that they had never seen one handwritten before and said: $35 please; here is your plate.
What a walk in the park
Anyway, the ribs that went on at noon are ready to come off. (the kids are tearing me away from the keyboard so they can eat) and all said, it cooks like a dream. Upright is 10 to 15 degrees lower than the main chamber. I guess the higher fire because of the colder weather makes the difference less. I got a lot to learn about this pit and will probably need some help.
