Hey Gerry

I have used a Meco charcoal smoker for several years now and you're right, its not a cold weather machine. Last year I took a piece of wafer board and cut it into 4 2' x 4' pieces, fixed 3 of them together and hinged the 4th for a door. I left about 6" open top and bottom on the door piece for air and put on a plywood top. The smoker fits inside just right and cooks great on all but the coldest, windiest days.
Have you used the "Minion" method of burning? Go to www.virtualweberbullet.com Lots of good stuff there for you.
Good luck, Gerry.

Peter
