Thanks for the detailed reply. Your patience is very much appreciated. Do you think going about the home jobby smoker is the right way to go? Or would you suggest a commercial one?

I have only been thinking the home jobby alternative because the affordable alternatives I have found have received a lot of negative comments in the reading that I have done. I can't afford to spend the money to ship up some of the brands such as Klose or Oklahoma Joe's.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. I plan to smoke for just my family and friends, so I do not need a high volume smoker.
