Reg:
Just cracked first beer o' the day. Took Hannah to the Santa Claus Parade this morning and had to get a few Timmy's in me before I hit the coolies! Got a mix of jumbo green and medium black olives smoking over the one chunk of apple I was able to pry off that knotty piece Mop! gave me. Gonna hit the apple orchard before it closes for the season and see if I can get some more applewood! Need to chop up some more pecan too. Don't want to have to do it in the middle of a snow storm! Mom and dad are coming in this afternoon. I bought a prime rib roast a month or so ago on sale at A&P (4.79/lb or something; about 4 lbs), and have been teasing them with it since then. This weekend finally worked out fine, so they are coming in. Got the olives for appetizer, creamy slaw from Smoke & Spice, a potato recipe off the top of my head (frozen hash browns in pyrex dish, add a s**tload of cheese, milk/cream and butter. Add a cracker crust and away you go. Att: Swine Fellows: this should be like Cracker Barrel's hash brown casserole) and homemade dinner rolls (started out in the bread machine, then hand-rolled and oven-baked). Denise is looking after dessert.
Keep us posted on the brisket, Reg! You got any of that brisket sauce left?
