Hi Lida,
Well, your instructors obviously don't know much about dyslexia to tell you that it shouldn't cause problems learning a foreign language. You are a picture thinker and you process information with pictures, not words!

A Davis Dyslexia Correction Program uses Symbol Mastery to create concepts in clay. This method is helpful in learning a foreign language You can master any concept in clay...it is awesome and powerful! http://www.dyslexia.com

Try this link also http://www.dyslexia.com/library/tprlanguage. It describes TPR (Total Physical Response) Foreign Language Instruction, uses the whole body. It is a very creative way to learn a foreign language and that's all I know about TPR.

Many dyslexics who come to Davis are people like yourself who have found ingenious ways to cope but hit that "brick wall" that keeps them from achieving all they are capable of acheiving...(due to their learning style not being addressed in the "Oh, we are so knoweledgeable, academic world!"). They are not the experts and many of the learning disabilities specialists have no idea how you learn. I majored in special ed and only learned of the the picture thinking style 2 years ago!!!
