I think you've made a good point about learning differently. That is why my son's and myself have memories of good teachers and bad ones. I don't think it is as much a matter of learning disorder as it is a teacher disorder. Teachers who are very visual with their intruction seem to fair much better with us. We process information differently. When it comes to math, we could come up with the correct answer, but not by using the same formula, we could find visual patterns in the example that made it unecessary to follow the forumal. What is frustrating is the inability to get the opportunities that "normal" learners have. It's really tough to see how colleges care for their athletes who couldn't pass anything on their own, but throw away a dyslexic learner with an IQ of 150. Don't you feel like sometimes you have to do everything on your own?
