Forgot to tell you anything about me!

Yes, I can relate. Not dyslexic myself but my husband is, and English isn't his mother-tongue. He's learnt English (not just by knowing me; he learnt it at school years before that, and went on improving it after we met.) His dyslexia doesn't seem to make any difference to his ability to learn the speaking. His spelling isn't that great, but who's worrying about that? Actually Spanish spelling is a lot more logical than English, so it may not be as bad as you think :)

My job is teaching English as a foreign language, and my students include some dyslexics. Dyslexia isn't the most important factor in the equation; it's just one thing to take into account. What's most important is being in charge of your own learning. Check regularly that you ARE learning, ARE going forward. And if you aren't satisfied with your progress, don't panic, don't blame yourself, don't blame the dyslexia, etc. Trouble-shooting is a lot more use than blaming in any shape or form! Believe that you can do, and keep going; sooner or later you'll find your own ways of succeeding.
