Dear Beka you are so "not alone" as a Mom and most importantly is your son is not alone. This learning
sharing and communications tool the internet, brings
us together in a way that nothing in our history has
ever provieded.I will tell you a few things that may
or may not help. There is a book called "the Gift of dyslexia"by Ronald D Davis. It might help you both to
better understand dyslexia. I use large magnifing sheets
to inlarge small type. I have heard colored lenses help
some students read better or see better. I recomend getting
any text book he can in large bold type. I recomend the college provide a tutor or reader whenever possible.
The teacher you spoke of should receive some disiplinary action from the college. So she could learn the effects
of her words on students not to hurt her but to improve
her teaching skills. Good Luck. Mrs. Longley
Oh yes tell him Mrs. Longley has a BA and M.ed.
and if she can earn them as a dyslexic so can he earn
his degree.
