My husband and I have 3 children ages 20,18,15.with the gift of dyslexia .they had tutors (our expence)they have areas in reading grade 3 to 6 writting difficulty and spelling. The school dosn't grade on spelling, gives all the time student needs on tests, and do and did not give appropriate english classes.( american studies, journalism, comunications classes for english credit. We had a due process and lost. The reason not eligible, good grades. They excell in chemistry, phisics ,calculus and have goals in higher education. With out eligibility for sec 504 scored 17 on A.C.T. My son said "I couldn't get past the story problems in addition to show my ability in calculus. The school did not give our 18 year old senior girl the Terra Nova Achievement test in grade 10.The rest of the class took it.They gave her the M.E.A.P. test instead. Some one told me this or I wouldn't have known. The school did admit to this but will not give her the test. Please heellp! Mary
