If he is Dyslexic he should be tested! Also have him check to see if the College where he is attending will wave the math part for a degee in Business Administration by waving it he will have to take a substute coruse in place of the math. This cannot be done until he goes to the Disabled Student Service center each College and University may or nor have course subsitution mainly your Math, Chemistry, and Biology departments do or do not because of the nature of the requirements of studies. But Once can get a course waive for Foreign Language but one one must show proof! And also if you need to talk to him about it the subject of being Dyslexic and it is a very touch subject because we as humans still live a world of darkness. Due to the fact that there are some people who think it is all in ones head! Try to walk a mile or so in someones size 3 shoes! If the two of you have been knowning each other for a while start out small and and ask him. But first go to the Student Disabled Services and ask for some insight on how to talk to him.
