Your student may be perfectly capable of keeping up, it depends on what form of dyslexia they have. i can speek four languages read and write. My grammer and spelling is bad in all of them. In high school in spanish 3 a teacher moved me down to spansh 1 because I had 4 spelling mistakes in a paragraph that was truley a full five sentence paragraph. My neighbouring student had writen one sentence as a paragraph and got an A and stayed in spanish 3. So keep in perspective what is important. Do they know the voacubulary? do the sentences make sence? can they understand you? can they comunicate? if they can not spell all the words corectly it is OK.
People say Latin is better because it helps them with spelling English but it is harder and they can only use it in very limited circomstances.
When I tutor students in foreign language with dyslexia I have them spend extra time meorizing words, but I also introduce vocabulary in context so that they can link it to something already in their memory.
