When I read your message, it made me so mad, you are not thick!
I went through school in a special class, held back a year, in the lowest class, teachers said i wasn't trying, i didn't consintrate and in the end gave up on me.
what was weird was the fact that although I was in a "special class" and a year behind my friends, my friends would say, "oh ask Julie she'll know" , when asked about what words meant or general knowledge facts, and they meant it, they thought I was clever, even though I was in a lower class then them, and that was odd. then 5 years ago at the age of 33 I was diagnosed with severe dyslexia, a classic case they said.
Now I am doing an open university course, I found working on my own helps because i'm not so distracted by others. yes its hard, and my marks are not great I have to say, but i'm taking it slow and will get there in the end.
you will find your way too.

This so called "assesor", is in the wrong job, you know she can hrdly call herself educated if she doesn't undersatnd dyslexia or even try to understand it properly, which she clearly does not.
Don't give up , just because of one women who is clueless,
Julie
