Hello,
My name is Christina and I'm not studying to be a performer, but it is my minor. I've been working with theatre now for nearly eight years and I'm familiar with the problem you have. My only suggestion to you, that works for me, is to look at each word individualy. I know sometimes I get overwhelemed just by observing the words on the paper. That may sound a little strange but the feeling your getting in your stomach may be the result of being overwhelemd. If you take your time and look at each word individualy then that may help you get through it. Also, as a performer you know by now that practice makes perfect. When your rehearsing on your own time try reading the script outloud. If someone is willing, read part of the script in front of a friend, family memenber, or roomie. Whenever I have reading assignments, at times I'll take my book out and read it outloud just for practice. Well I hope that helps you out.
Sincerly,
Christina
