Getting out was not very hard since all the vermin were fighting each other. Staying behind the slave pens she slipped out and started running. She did not stop until the hubbub was far behind her. She began racking her brain for a solution. Wait! Hadn't she heard her parents once say that a great sandstone house named Redwall was somewhere off the river Moss? She had! She could find the river Moss. Her parents had told her that she was attracted to running water. So she set out, letting her instincts take over. It soon was dark. She sheltered herself underneath some ferns and soon fell into a light sleep. The tittering of birds soon woke her. She dug around until she found some roots to eat. She was then on the march, going as swiftly and silently as she could. By midday she thought she heard water. It was faint, but definetly water! She set out in the direction that she had heard it.

Meanwhile, at Redwall nobeast was aware of the oncoming danger. Nobeast but the cooks were awake this early. Not really, Skipper of otters had been sleepwalking. He was standing in front of the tapestry of Martin the Warrior, staring. Suddenly, Martin began to speak. What he said astounded the burly otter.
