And this proved a problem for the naughty dibbuns, which was all of them. Soilrose, Treehop and Ffrikkle were in the midst of stealing vegtable pasties from a windowsill where they were cooling, when Little-Miss-Perfect flounced up. She pulled a shocked face, and began to weep loudly(and dramatically!). The dibbuns were cornered, literally. The window was positioned in a corner, and Violetta was sprawled out, blocking their escape. Mother Mellus soon appeared. "Now, now, what's all this fuss about Violetta?" "Ooouuuhh, Mum Mellus, those naughty dibbuns were going to steal the pasties Friar had taken soooo much time and care in baking! Ooooouuuuuuuhhhhhh!" Violetta's crying and moaning was so loud, soon a crowd had appeared. Mother Mellus' face screwed up, then she spoke in a steely voice. "If there's one thing I hate the most, it's dibbuns who steal things the good creatures of this Abbey spend their time, love, and devotion making! Now, I won't banish you three because you have considerably good records. BUT- I will give you a similar punishment. You will be given one day's worth of food, and some supplies. You will stay in one corner of the Abbey Grounds for two days. Understood?" Ffrikkle took a quick count on his fingers, then looked up at the badger. "But if yoo is givven us one day uv food, how's come's we're stayin' out here twoow days?" "Because, Ffrikkle, that's called punishment." *~*~*~*~* So, Soilrose, Treehop, ans Ffrikkle had just gotten out to their corner of the grounds. Soilrose was in charge of food, Ffrikkle was in charge of the other supplies, and Treehop was in charge of planning an escape. "So, Ffrikkle, wat supplies we got?" "We got a tent kit, a lanturn, fwree blankets, and fwree pillows, Tree me ole hop!" "Lissen yurr, we are 'avin zoop, tarts, an' cheese furr supper." "Why soup?" "Cuz Oi loiks makkerin' zoop." "Okeydokey!" The three dibbuns ate their bowl of soup, cherry tart(Soilrose saved them just in time from burning), and small wedge of cheese. "I gots a plan! Lissen!"
