I needed to know what happened to Laterose. So I wrote it myself.

Her scream rent the tumultuous midnight
Her pale cheeks wet with the tears he cried
Martin held her to his heaving chest
And so, in his arms, Rose died

He left her body in Noonvale
Her bright and peaceful home
His heart was buried with her
To be cried o're by Grumm and Brome

Condolences were murmered by friends
But the fell on deaf, unfeeling ears
And in the shadows of the night
He wept to himself long, bitter tears

Each had trial after trial
Both had to bear it themselves
And each was hoping and praying
Wishing for the other's help

Martin forced the wildcat queen
To abdicate her throne
Helped his new-found friends create
Their own hearth and home

And Rose must watch her love forever
N'er to be seen
Wishing and wandring and wondering
How things, they may have been

Night after night she watched him
Shiver in cold and greif
She could bear it no longer, she curled in his arms
The way she had used to sleep

And he held her, really held her
For but a moment, flesh and bone!
And that night, she knew as he did
They would never be alone

She was a part of him, now
On his shoulder was always her paw
Through triumph and through tragedy
Such was their unwritten law

They would always be together, yet
Would always be alone
Preserved in time forever
Like and edda writ in stone

And so, truly, at the dawning
When the first larksong ascends
In the silent beauty twixt night and morn
He shall see his Laterose again

~
And so, a closure. I hope you don't mind
