Vira scrambled through the thick bushes as she seeked to find a hiding place. Finally she curled up in a small space screened by bushes. Vira Drosamia was hiding from her band of healers. She had been accused of attacking a fellow healer and chased from the group. She was weary after running all day away from any trackers that might have been sent out. Night was setting, the dark night that she had never feared before. Where would she go? Suddenly her mind went back to the day that her otter friend Atta had left the healer band. She had gone to the Abbey of Redwall. Suddenly Vira felt new hope. She dashed east in the direction where she knew the Abbey was. In the morning she arrived at the gate and knocked. Nobody answered for a while, so she curled up and slept. She dimly saw she was being carried in and woke up surrounded by friendly faces, including Atta. "Welcome to Redwall!" they cried and Vira Drosamia smiled.
