Subject: Turning out my horses

Never Say Never- I grab Nevi's halter and go to his stall. I open the stall door, slip the halter over his face and lead him out. He notices I am turning him out and he gets excited and starts to trot down the aisle. I give a tug on the lead rope and he slows to a walk. I open the gate and unclip the lead rope. He gallops off and begins to buck. He gallops up and down the the pasture. He cools out and walks around. After about 20 minutes I go out and catch him. We walk slowly back to the barn and I pick his hooves and put him back in his stall with a flake of hay.

Two Step Fly- I get Steppys halter and lead and get him from his stall. He begins to get very strong and trot down the aisle with is legs high. I pull back on the lead rope and he fights me to get back to a walk. He obviosly is raring to go. I open the gate and unclip the lead. He gallops off at full speed. He jumps all the logs and bucks in little circles. After about 5 minutes of that he slows to a walk and rolls. He gets up and walks around. I lets him roll and trot around for about 20 minutes and then I bring him in. He walks nicely down the aisle obviously liking the turn out. I pick his hooves and put him back in his stall with a flake of hay.

Sunday Sensation- I grab Sundays halter and lead and get him from his stall. He walks nicely down the aisle and I unclip the lead rope and let him go. He canters up and down the pasture and bucks. He rolls a few times. Sunday walks up to the gate and nickers for me to catch him. I catch him and bring him into the barn and pick his hooves and put him in his stall.

Down To Business- I don't turn out Downy today because he seems a little sore. I hand walk him for about 10 minutes and he seems to get better. I groom him and put him back into his stall. I make him a bran mash and add some bute to it just in cause he becomes a little stiff. I also give him a flake of hay.

Fortuna Brillante- Brillante is nickering in his stall. Hes ready to go. I grab his lead and halter. I open his stall door and he quickly comes to the door. I lead him out and he throws his head up and begins to trot. I tell him "Whoa" and he returns to a walk. I open the gate and he trys to break. I snap back on the lead rope annoyed by his sudden burst of speed. He automaticly walks and waits so I can close the gate. I unclip the lead rope and he lets out a huge buck and rears then takes off at a gallop. He gallops around then returns to a walk and rolls. He gets up and begins to canter. He trots around and then walks after about 10 minutes. I let him cool down and then bring him in. I bring him into the barn and I pick his hooves and put him back into his stall with a flake of hay. All the horses are happy.
Before I go I check on Downy. He seems a lot better and his contently chomping on some hay. I can probably turn him out tommarow.
