Subject: Quarter Horses

Sizzling Zippo: I take Fire out of his stall and tie him up. I go and get his saddle and bridle and tack him up. When I get into the arena, I get on and ask him for a walk. We walk for about 10 minutes, when I then ask him to do a lope, since we needed a little practice on that. He was wonderful at first, but tripped a little on his second time around. I bring him back down to a trot, and we trot for about 5 minutes. I un-tack him, and put him on the hot walker for 15 minutes. I go back and get him, and put him in his stall.

Choclate Chip Olena: I walk into CC's stall, and slip his halter on. I take him outside and walk around with him for a bit. I decide not to ride him, because he seems to be limping a bit. I walk him around for 20 minutes, then put him back in his stall.

Choclate Chip Cookie: I take Coco out of his stall, and groom him. Today is the first time I try riding him. I go get his tack, and let him smell it. He doesn't seem that intrested in it. I take the saddle pad, and put it on his back. He shakes a little bit, but doesn't seem to mind. I then lift the saddle on his back, and he moves around a little. I reach under for the cinch and put it in the loophole. As I start to tighten it, he bucks a little, but that was it. I decide to leave his halter on today, and just lounge him with the tack on. I take him out into the arena, and lounge him for 20 minutes. I untack him and give him a carrot and return him to his stall.

One Tuff Cookie: I take Cookie out of her stall, and tack her up. I get on her, and we walk over to he arena. We practice our sliding stops today, and she did great. She messed up a little bit on the third stop, but was great on the rest.

Jumping Jack Whiz: I take JJ out of her stall, and tack her up. I walk her over to the arena, and get on her. Today, we are working on spinning. She does about three spins, then stops. I nudge her a little bit, and we rotate the other way. She did four this time, then stopped. I decided not to push it, so I take her back to the stall and give her some hay.

Opinunated Chip: I decide to ride Chip bare-back today. I take Chip out of her stall, and clip her lead rope to the other side of her halter. I walk her outside, and use the mounting block to get on her back. She is 2 months pregnant, so her belly is a little round. We walk around the arena for 5 minutes, then I decide to take her on a short trail ride. We walk outside the gate, and around the meadow for about 30 minutes. I take her back inside and groom her, then return her to her stall.
