Sorry, won't work.

From the beginning, what Bush was saying, and what the rest of the World was saying contradicted each other almost entirely. There wasn't a single scrap of evidence to suggest Iraq had any involvement in 9-11. Saddam said he got rid of his WMDs and UN inspections confirmed this.

Somebody was lying and I figured it was Bush from day one. (I'm not saying Saddam was trustworthy, but neither was Bush. Only the U.N. Inspectors had any credibility.) The information available at the time was that Iraq WAS NOT an immediate threat to the United States or anyone else.

The almost total lack of U.S. leadership skills after the Military did their job was truly amazing. This had nothing to do with “information”, good or bad.

“easy to say many months later that one would have made a different decision”
Welcome home from your trip from Mars. Your suggestion the people of the United States and the Western World were behind Bush is ludicrous. I was “on planet” at that time and I have news for you, most of the Western World was OPPOSED to Bush’s plan; you can forget “Monday morning quaterbacking”.

The rationale to invade Iraq in retaliation for 9-11, when 9-11 was conceived, orchestrated, financed and executed by Saudi Nationals, actually struck many of us triple digit IQ types as rather odd.

The probability Iraq will again be hostile to the Western World, and The U.S. in particular, within a decade of the withdraw of Western Forces is very, very high. At that time, like Vietnam, the war in Iraq will be a total loss due to gross mismanagement.

Bush was right to get out of the way and let the Military do their job. He hasn’t been right about anything else, before or since.
