Subject: Tramping in Abel Tasman

Hey everyone! Just thought i'd let you you that me and Nomi are going to be out of reach for the next few days. We've decided to rent some camping equiptment and spend a few days tramping around in Abel Tasman Park. We'll be taking a water taxi from the township of Marahau to either Onetahuti or Awaroa Bay. From there, we'll follow the coastline and work our way back down to Marahau.

There are plenty of places to camp along the way, so we'll probably spend about three nights in the park itself on our way back down. The weather here is quite pleasant, about 18 degrees, so hopefully we shouldn't get too cold. I bought a winter coat and a sweater(for $2 each at an outdoor market) and Nomi bought a sweater as well just in case it gets chilly. The weather forecast says it shouldn't rain for the next few days, so hopefully we wont be tramping in the mud.

My only concern is my throat which is feeling quite sore today. If it develops into a full-blown cold or flu we probably wont go afterall. The last two times this has happened it's gone away on its own in a day or two, so hopefully this will be the case again.

In other news, me and Nomi are making a lovely meal tonight of asian stirfry with noodles and tofu and sweet and sour sauce!!! This probably doesn't sound very exciting to you, but we've been craving asian food since we left Malaysia, so we're very much looking forward to it.

Actually when we first arrived in New Zealand from Malaysia, we spent a couple of days in culture shock. We went out for Thai/Chinese food our first night here because the thought of eating western food seemed quite strange. Of course we are over our culture shock now, but asian food is still very yummy!
Bye for now(and thanks mom and dad for the very cute Liam pictures!)
Love Sarah
