Subject: Furnes/Madsen news

Hi girls!
I'm still enjoying all news of your wanderings, and I thought I would give you a brief update on the happenings at the Furnes/Madsen household . We are thinking of you extra especially more now as Easter approaches because of the many wonderful weekends our family and yours spent together during your growing-up years hunting Easter eggs and eating the same. What will you do for Easter in New Zealand? Loyd has to work most of the weekend, as do Kelsey and Erik, so we won't go far, just to Grandma and Grandpa Cullen in Tsawwassen for dinner on Monday. Loyd and I did get over to Victoria for a weekend visit 10 days ago, though, and it was good to see everyone even if it was brief. Liam is very cute and is a very good baby - Erin is very lucky.
Over here, Erik has just finished his exams at Langara, plus he has given his two weeks notice at Safeway and is going to work full time for Choices Market (where Kelsey works, but at a different location) for the summer. He has also just found out that he has mono, so he is a very sleepy guy with a very swollen throat. Hopefully this will not be too detrimental to his new job. Kelsey has just aquired a pet mouse. It's cream colored with pink eyes and she calls him Mr. Marbles. Besides a deluxe cage, he has a tiny clear plastic ball that he runs around the floor in looking very cute indeed. We have to try very hard to keep Callie out of her room from now on!
I recently finished my two winter courses that I was taking for my Interior Decorating program, and now I have started one more for the Spring (architectural rendering). The courses are tough with alot of homework, but I am enjoying them. This is my 10th course and I am a little over half way to my diploma. Loyd is also taking a night school course right now. He's taking "Italian 2" (intermediate conversational Italian) in preparation for our trip to Italy this June. We're both getting very exited about the trip which we will take from June 6 through June 29. Isn't travelling wonderful!
I love the sound of the Thai food that you were learning to cook and can't wait to sample some when you get back. Anyway, take care both of you and keep adventuring!
Cathy
