Judging by the lack of activity, I'm guessing that everyone is bored with Wilson Phillips. There's never any news on them and I wonder if they're ever going to get back together. If Chy is a born-again, then I guess they're over. Sad because I loved their music growing up.

If memory serves me well, Chynna became "born again" before the "California" album came out. So I don't think that's the issue. I think the'll be back together; lets give them time to be with their kids. I am hopeful that they (either The Wilsons or Wilson Phillips) will have some type of project out later this year or early 2008. And no, I am never going to get bored of Wilson Phillips.

I'll never get bored of Wilson Phillips....if that was going to happen it would've by now....the wait for a new WP album from 1992 to 2004 is proof enough! I am hopeful it won't be another decade before we have some new material by the group. If not the group, I think we'll get some new Wilsons material. It can get frustrating at times because I'm craving new material and to hear all the shelved demos and or finished songs that they've completed since they reformed back in 2000/2001.

Even though the board doesn't get much activity....I think it's really due to lack of any recent happenings other than an appearance on TV here and there of Carnie or new YouTube posts.

For now, I guess we'll just have to keep our fingers crossed and wait for some news on upcoming releases.
And Juli....I've not found any news about the 2007 X-mas album since Owen posted a reply quite a few months ago. Maybe we'll get a new material album before a holiday album. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have any recording by them but I wouldn't prefer to have a cover album followed by a holiday album. New and original songs is what I really am hoping for soon! As I'm sure we all are.

Speaking of demos, I wonder if there are any demos from the first album floating around. I belong to a Belinda Carlisle group on Yahoo and someone recently posted some demos from the Heaven On Earth recording sessions and I've always thought that it would be great if someone had WP demos in their posession and would be willing to share them.

I would also love to hear the stuff that was recorded before the California album; it probably wouldn't be released at this point since it's been about 5-6 years since they were recorded.

Yes, I'd love to hear any demos from their recording sessions. It seems that everyone else's make it to the internet somehow someway....why not WP? :) I'd love to hear the demos from their sessions before "California" as well since most of the songs that I have read about were written by the girls. And it'd be great to hear Carnie's pop album also. Uggh, all this music just sitting there in nowhereland is so frustrating and upsetting! I'd love to know the reason why it wasn't ever put on an album and released....I guess it's all the record label and industry politics that keep us from getting new music.
I bet that even if they were to put out a new album of new material they would most likely re-record the songs the completed before because it has been quite a few years now and they would want to either update the sound or mix it differently.
Well, maybe in a decade we'll have some more info on whether they're working on a new album...then we can wait another decade after that to actually hear it! :)
Sorry, sarcasm has to get me through the frustration of this topic!

I should end on a positive note however....at least we have new recordings thanks to the Target "A Song for My Father" CD. It was thrilling to hear something new.
