Subject: New Question: Reactions To Liking WP?

Time for a new question! :)

How do people react when you tell them that you are a Wilson Phillips fan?

IRL, I don't tell anybody that I like them; usually when someone asks me what type of music I like, I just say "whatever is on the radio" as I pretty much like to keep what I like private.

Online, I have, on separate message boards, posted a message saying that I liked WP and asked if anyone else did; both times the reaction was not that positive. One person had said that they had liked them back when they were 12-14 years old but then they matured, indirectly saying that I was immature for being 26 (at the time) and still liking them. These days, I just have WP listed as an interest on LiveJournal and MySpace and leave it at that.

(Other reactions online have been: a crapload of smilies that barf, "why do you like a group that only made three albums?" and "bleh! only losers with no taste like that shit!")

Actually, most people know I am a hardcore Wilson Phillips fan. Every time they (friends and family) see news or articles about Wilson Phillips as a group or individually they think of me. Man only remember the Hold On Fan - and I get some surprises when I say they are my favourite band of all time - surpassing my other fave bands - The Beatles, Abba, The Carpenters etc - but NOTHING resonated with me like Wilson phillips did when they first came out. I find it so tough to have wated all those years for California to comr out - WHICH I LOVED - and then to suddenly so no hope on horizon for a reunion after they split initially. Thats why the person who set up yahoomail has been such a lifesaver. M favourite singer of all time is Elvis Presley and I got stick all my life for liking him - its only in the last few decaded that his music and legend have become cool again and its not as tough saying you love Elvis

BUT! we should be proud of what music we love. Music is totally like love - in the eye of the beholder - and if we were all the same then it would be sad world. I just recently got into Facebook and WP are all over it. And I am proud of my love for them and will never hide it. I would love a few of us WP fans who use Facebook to add each other as friends and start our own Wilosn Phillips Facebook group - seeing as the site has taekn off like nothing else online since You Tube. You can add videos from You Tube - its amazing

my adress if anyone wants to check it out - you can only have 9-11 You Tube Skins but I always have 103 of Wilson phillips on it -and in the new MY TV I have tons of Wilson Phillips songs in my list of You Tube faves. Finally, I am setting up a radio station via a cool app called Media Master which is at the end of my very long and application filled page - and I am gonna upload tons of WP tracks to my radio station

I mentioned in te npost about WP on Facebook. I forgot to add that someone has started a group -ist called - Like Wilson Phillips said: Hold on for one more day.

Its only being going a short while and has 86 members. With Facebook growing exponentially every day it will be the biggest thing on line since You Tube. So if anyone who hasnt joined Facebook, set up an account - add me as a friend and join the group - or we can even set up another one as the people on the groups as are Wilson Phillips EXPERTS
