In the abstract - it was/is a really stupid plot line that contridicts, or makes really, really hard to work out the logistics of, much of what came before.

Well, yes, but that's not even the thing about it I hate the most.

To me, MMWK represents the moment the show morphed from a spy show to a soap opera, where the plot emphasis was no longer on taking down SOTWs and the moral dilemmas Nikita faced in doing so, but all about relaaaaaaaationships. Which is not the show I had fallen in love with!

It annoyed me immensely, especially because the end of S2 had really left open some fascinating new directions they could have gone in. But no. *Rolls eyes*

The only thing I had to fastforward through was the Walter/Birkoff busines of trying to blackmail operations. It was painful the first time - unwatchable to me this time round... which I suppose in some sense is a tribute to the characters and the actors who portrayed them! I so completely believe in the reality of Walter and Birkoff that watching them act like idiots who are going to get their heads handed to them on a plater is unbearable!

This is so funny. These scenes are among the few in this arc that I really enjoy (those, and George finally making his appearance! Whee!). I just loved seeing Operations totally PWN those two, and how much evil glee he took in it.

I suppose it helps that I never cared much for Walter as a character, though. The dirty-old-uncle-who's-secretly-wise routine was just unbearable to watch, so it was a nice change seeing him swatted down. Or at least *I* enjoyed it, but I know I hold minority views about many of the characters. :-)
