we've played 4 games:

one scrimmage [W]
one preseason tournament game [W]
one preseason tournament championship game [L]
one preseason regular game [W]

with only 5 teams in our division we have seen 3 of the 4 we will play.

the kids are doing well: learning some things, hustling, trying hard, dealing with my insistence on concentration, effort, fundamentals and sportsmanship.

as for francis: he is doing well with the Stick [5 for 9 with 4 homers and leads the teams in runs scored]. he is doing very well in the field at first base [which is one of the three most important positions at this level]. at 7 yrs old he is younger than many on the team but i would modestly say he is best Performer so far. there is one kid who is a year older and much better but he chokes at the plate. francis has nerves of steel though he does cry when he makes a mistake [normal for his age under the Lights].

of course the time we put in at home makes a difference.

the important thing is he likes to be out there with the other boys; he gets exercise; he's challenged in numerous ways both physically, mentally and emotionally.... and we get to spend time together doing something we both enjoy.
