This comment affected me the most. I haven't thought of the drilling from this perspective - I agree fully. My knee jerk reaction is to preserve the ANWAR. That gut repsonse coming from a firm belief that the natural world holds information whose power we can't yet imagine; manipulate that power and we can't yet know the consequences.

Having said that- not sure I have a problem with asking the consumer to pay for the consequences of our decisions. If we continue to have no or minimal impact on our decisions -then clearly we won't change behavior; and i belive strongly in the need for change.

Balance is the key - at what point do gas prices undermine our economy. It's easy to pick on the suburban SUV driving gas sucking entitlement crowd - love to do so personally. But, not sure I'm ready to apply the same rhetoric to the truck driving working man/woman. Could take down our economy.... Thanks for the food for thought....
