I lived in the flats (now gone!) on Ganworth Road, opposite
the park. I remember the old farmhouse opposite the dove & olive, at one time it was Speke Boys Club, affiliated to the National Association of Boys Clubs. I lived in ganworth road
1955-1966, & remember the area well. There was some prosperity in Speke when the Ford plant opened, around 1960, & the long gone industrial estates were busy. The people of Speke deserve a lot more than they have now, & investment in real jobs would be a start.
