Subject: Honest to goodness question.

So, I was thinking. Would it be worth it, to drop out of school, RIGHT now, and by that I mean, tomorrow, to donate a lung lobe to a total stranger to save their life? Let me know what you think.

No, I'd rather keep my lung and have a good time in college. I really don't think I would feel anything special after donating an organ.

So do you have this oppurtunity or something Tim?
I would feel good giving an organ but it's not worth dropping out of school and ending everything that is good for me right now, sorry.

I think it would depend on the feasibility of it all. If your donation gave the person a 5% chance of survival, I don't know that it would be the greatest idea. However, if donating the lung lobe gave that individual a 99% chance of survival, I think it might be the right thing to do. The other thing to consider would be how much your loss of a lung lobe would affect you...would you be guaranteed to survive? Either way, I think the answer would only come to you after praying about it.

[> Here's the scoop -- TK, 00:28:59 02/07/04 Sat

A friend/acquaintance of mine has been diagnosed with this "terminal" illness. He was diagnosed with it the day he was born, and he wasn't supposed to live 10 days. Then he did, so he wasn't supposed to live 2 years....but then he did...then he wasn't supposed to live 10 years...but now he's 20.
He lived on my hall last year, and his parents are BEGGING people to donate a lung lobe. But nobody will or has. Now...personally, I don't want to, and I have "too much going for me." Which is the most arrogant thing ever. The more and more and more I think about it, the worse and worse and worse you feel about it. it's weird and WAY to late to think about.
Night.
