The question is, though, in the long term are we not swinging the voter base more towards the older age group?
In most towns that I've seen, the older voters tend to vote more towards services for the elderly, and have less support for school and recreation programs.
Or.. they work in a tax cut for the elderly, which transfers the burden of funding these things to a dwindling population of younger taxpayers or force us to have a greater dependence on the state.
