I don't believe in the moral superiority of any form of government.

It was a nice fairy tale told to us all in elementary school. I seem to remember never being taught about the Korean Conflict or Vietnam.. our history classes ended at WWII.

After what I've seen parents do to their kids, government entities lack of responsibility and accountability, courts completely out of control.. I haven't believed that we were much better for many years. We lock up penny-ante criminals using "three strike" laws, or "zero-tolerance" sentences, while letting organized criminals and anyone with enough money to pass it around go free. I've dealt with politicians who seem to be nothing but narcissistic and really care nothing about anything but furthering their own sense of percieved power.. while our society crumbles around them.. and the kids are lost in the cracks.

It's only at the lowest levels of government where it seems that people really care.. like what I've seen with our Senator, and the people I've seen around our town.

We are dealing with war, against an enemy that doesnt exist as a formal entity, hides in shadows, caves, and in the case of 9-11, in our own backyards. I think we know what value the "international criminal court" is.. others can use it against us, but we cannot against our enemies.

Maybe I'm having a bad day.. but remember, I drive by the Captain Ogonowski's farm regularly.. the monument in his honor is only a couple hundred yards from my house. I worked with people on that plane, knew others.

Maybe its because I work in the defense industry, but I never saw this as a war against one individual, or so save one people. We are trying to reorganize the entire middle east because it is organizing against us.

Morally right? only history will tell.
