Well put Michael. I hope you and Donna are able to attend the Town Meetings at which the Community Preservation Committee will make proposals to preserve large parcels of land in town. Voting for this preservation will help prevent the strain on all town services.

Back to busing....

The only reason private school children were bused in the first place is because Mr. Gagnon owned the buses and his children went to private school. He was taking care of his own, as fathers often do. It was probably a good business decision on his part, as well. He was taking his children there anyway, why not take other students and make some money in the process? It wasn't the school system taking care of his children and making sure they had a bus to private school. That's the whole "history" of busing private school children. No other town or city in the area provides a bus to private school and if that's your main reason for living in Dracut, then it's a pretty shallow and short-sighted one.

I'd like to know if Donna, and other parents of private school children, are putting as much effort into having their private school system bus their children? And I'll say it again: If getting your children to private school is that important to you, then find a way to make it happen. You did it for pre-school, do it for private school.
