First, I am not a regular here. I came to read what was going on because I heard about the meeting the other night. I was not personally there and, therefore, will not comment about anything that happened.

I just want the members of the school committee to know that there are many parents out there that believe they did the correct thing by cutting the busing of private school children to out of town schools. We are just not as vocal as some about this issue. My children have been in the Dracut Public school system for 7 years it never made sense to me that private school children where on public school buses. I found it strange that people who, for whatever reason, did not send their children to the public schools, had no problem with them hanging out in front of the public schools unsupervised.

I want to know if the parents of the private school children would think this issue is reasonable if I expected the public school system of Dracut to bus my private school girl to Nazareth Academy in Wakefield? The line of reasonableness is obviously a bus trip to a school in Dracut. Quite literally, you have been getting a "free ride" for years.

School Committee: please stick to your guns on this one. You made the correct decision and even went out of your way to help them continue their busing for a fee.

Private School Parents: you have three choices 1) pay the fee, 2) drive them yourselves 3) go to the public schools. Pick one of them and stop complaining!
