In reply to: Kyla 's message, "And yes again" on 06:37:05 01/27/03 Mon

Kyla, I’ve been letting your reply percolate and stew for a day or two, mainly because I’ve been brain dead from lack of sleep for awhile. Groan. But today, here I am awake and alive and hopefully able to make a coherent reply.

You said: "Funny, but to me that "moving out" is the whole of what is happening here, and the stages and steps and the intricate movements and processes are our Sacred Dance. That moving out is also a moving in. And, forgive me, but isn't contrasting "this chessboard existence" with "the incredibleness of what is" another version of the either/or? Or am I missing something here?"

Thanks for your perceptive comments. Yes, you are right, this is the dance we are doing. I guess I’m just wanting to add some new steps to the repitoire, which for me had become repetitive and bogged down. I don’t see the contrast of the-incredibleness-of-all-that-is with our-chessboard-existence in terms of Either/Or. The chessboard, after all is IN the verdant jungle, the experience of the ant, included in all of what-is. It’s just that it’s LIMITED to two dimensions when there are so many many more dimensions awaiting discovery. Seems such a waste!!

You say: "What I perceive is all the movement and the interpenetration among the levels, with each one of us an absolutely unique expression of the infinite variability of individuated Onlyness....Crystallizations of patterns and complexes and habits and qualities and characteristics infused with that un-pin-downable Living Breath, always shifting and penetrating and retreating....."

YES I hear you here! I think you're IN the multi-dimensionality here. In contrast to always dancing in the muck. Perhaps that eternal muck has not been your experience, maybe it’s just me, but for me the second birth led to...a continual down, interspersed with interludes of addictive activities where I could tranceout for awhile. Until I glimpsed the possibilites inherent in the move into a multidimensional paradigm, I was stuck in a limited arena where there seemed to be only Down and Trance.

Your turn again: "Surely pain is one of the major ways we experience change and are motivated to cooperate with or resist it. But, is the question really "pain or not-pain?" Or, is there more going on than that?"

Yes again! There IS more going on than that. But do we see it? Do we access it? Do we move into it? Do we discover the richness of Being, the infinite possibilites here? Pain is a huge motivator. If you know of other motivators that actually work, let’s talk about it. And by pain, I don’t mean just physical pain, but the pain of limitation in all it’s manifestations. The pain of feeling stuck, of hopelessness, meaninglessness...the chessboard experience.

You: "Or, to put it another way, why posit that the pain is what makes us willing to let go and change, or even that there is a chosen holding on and resisting of change? That strikes me as unnecessarily punitive, in fact. Because -- what if -- what if all we can ultimately do is receive and explore these experiences and allow them their course? And learn to trust the process and stop trying to speed it up to get somewhere with it..... And, in the "meantime", take all the space and soothing for our pain that we can find....."

Oh sweetie, this IS the pain...”receiving and exploring these experiences and allowing them their course”. When does the course ever end, do we ever get to graduate? For me it just went on and on, feeling deeply into all that arose, feeling and feeling and more feeling with an occasional momentary breakthrough into spaciousness only to be followed by years of more pain and feeling down into my stuff. The breakthroughs never lasted, the territory broken through to was never experienced long enough to be explored. I couldn’t stand it anymore. HELP! let me out of here! But this was only my experience, perhaps for you and for others, the course is satisfactory. I don’t really know. Tell me how it is for you.

I just know that somehow, by some Grace, I’ve discovered another paradigm, rich with multi-dimensional possibilities and it feels so good that I want to share it’s possibility with anyone who feels limited and stuck. And I do sense that our world is fast reaching a point of unbearable stuckness and the pain of that impels me to declare that there is another way. Other ways of seeing things do exist and they can change your experience of what-is forever.

As for doing all this consciously, "trying to speed it up to get somewhere with it"...rather than simply allowing and trusting and waiting...hmmm...I guess I believe in both/and here. Consciously (for we ARE Consciousness are we not?) being willing to have more, BE more, Be whole, Be it all AND consciously willing and allowing Grace to enter in with all Her possibilites and unlimitedness. Hola!
