Dear Ben, I feel you have sounded a real important note here. Maybe, in all our negative self-scouring we might find a way to begin to include some of, I don't know what to call it, maybe the ways devastation always seems to bring out the best in us, so that Apocalypse itself becomes a Gateway..... I am heartened by the story of the spontaneous gathering at a mosque in Fort Collins during services there, the non-Islamic folks just showing up to offer their understanding that American Islam is not the enemy, their support for our precious diversity, being welcomed with food and friendship and flowers when the participants in the service came out and found them there. Bringing me to a different kind of tears. love, Kyla
