Hi Kev and welcome.

There is no page on this site that says that Paganism is Satanism. I do get this from time to time but there really is nothing on the site that says this. I know that some other Christians state this and it is a common misconception of the Pagan religions. I also think that some pagans are so used to hearing this from Christians, that when they see a site that critically examines paganism, they make the asumption that there must be something that says wiccans are satanists or pagains are satan worshippers or something along those lines. There is nothing in the site that says this though. The difference is understood and even explained. Hope this clears things up a bit.

As to ritualism, it can have the impression of giving satisfaction but it can actually lead one into bondage. To be sure, there are some elements in some Christian based groups that can lead people into bondage of ritualism. This is not God's desire but rather comes from the sin nature in us all that wants to perform works. But we can never be satisfied or earn God's favour in this way. The Bible tells us that the fullness is in Jesus Christ. He alone satisfies and then we are naturally led to do works for Him, not under guilt or habit, etc.

When I was involved in occultism, prior to becoming a Christian, I always found that the rituals I was involved in promised me freedom but actually led to more and more intricate systems of ritual that I had to do this way and that, on this day or that day. I became a slave to them and the spirits that demanded these things of me must have been having a good chuckle. Jesus Christ set me free from all of this and gave me new hope and peace. This can be the same for everyone.

About the thing with nature. It is understood about the energy that pagans believe permeates it. However, to an observer, and to many pagans themselves (see quotes by pagans themselves on the site), this can be interpreted as nature worship.

Thanks for the compliment about the page at the end of your post.

Good to have you here. Hope you can come back.
