Subject: Is December Really Alive?

A Christmas wish breathes,
Makes me think without lungs.
The tree falls onto my eyes gracefully,
Knowing its intent is welcomed.

Every house is not the same,
Fondest dreams sometimes excluded.
Bodies embrace each other,
Though sadly not like every day.

Still this once a year happiness,
It continues till next time.
Believing it will always come,
Looking back on endings unforgivable.

Must clear snow from the walkways,
Carolers may slip and voices die.
An undivine termination of a feeling,
To leave it in ruins is that worst mistake.

So I'll just sit here,
Staring at blinking lights,
Captured briefly by man-made utilities,
The numbness repeated once again so painfully.
