Subject: BSL Alert

In Sikeston after investigation the reason they want to pass BSL is their claiming theres one real bad area, a ghetto where they claim there are "drug dogs". Their proposed ordinance only addresses the dogs as dangerous, they list Mastiffs, Chows, Pit Bulls and Rottweilers. This is not about public safety and we need everyone to fax and e-mail the city of Sikeston opposing this ordinnance.

On March 3rd 2003 the City is considering a breed specific ordinance requiring that if specific breed dogs are loose in the house that all windows and doors must be kept shut. They are also requiring all the other conditions for BSL. The breeds listed are Mastiffs, Chows, Rottweilers, Pit Bulls, Amstaffs or any breed that resembles these breeds. That could mean alot of breeds of dogs. This is why
BSL needs to be stoppped because the intent is to prohibit pet ownership altogether. Those who support limited restrictions on Pit Bull dogs are doing it to add other breeds.

Please fax and e-mail opposition to Sikeston Mo. Their picking on the small towns where the politicans are easy to manipulate.
