>We very rarely put pen to paper over any issue, however regarding tail docking we are sick to death of hearing the lies and mis-information which seem to be fed out on a daily basis of pain and suffering of the animals involved (emotive lies) If the excuse Government is going to use is COSMETIC, HOW stupid does that make you look when cosmetic surgical alteration and supposed enhancment of humans is allowed regardless of the cost to the community, (take breast implants for eg) We are members of a purebreed dog organization which OPPOSES BANNING of docking, however they seem to have been totally ignored. We as Breeders cannot understand why you would ignore the only organizations whose sole purpose of existance is the maintenance and betterment of the CANINE.
You as a Government and us as a society have a massive problem with the numbers of uncontrolled and unsociable dogs but it seems you listen most to the people responsible for keeping them there ie the RSPCA. They make more money from re-housing dogs, sucking money from the government and public purse than any pure-breed organization gets in total income from it's members, however we continue to struggle on trying to better dog breeding, dog awareness and understanding and training.
We do incidentally understand the AVA objection to docking because we know many of their members are presented with pups to dock at up to 10 days old, we would object also, we do our pups at 24-48 hours old as all good breeders should.
As we mention earlier we both know dogs are a problem in our society and there are three paths to minimizing it
Eliminate backyard beeders
Enforce obedience training
Regulate Registered Breeders via their controlling bodies
Quality product with guarantee
With the unqualified right to refuse to sell
With the unqualified right indeed obligation to destroy pups not worthy of the breed standard.
However back to tail docking we know and I suspect you know dogs is only a lead up to banning of docking of sheep and other surgical procedures on animals destined for human consumption led by the same people that protest just about everything and you jump into bed with because they seem to get a media voice.
I certainly hope your not stupid enough to allow that, however, probably, I assume your city bred, I would'nt be surprised if you did.
Incidentally I am a unionist and have been a labour voter all my life. Before I finish tail docking is no longer a mandatory requirement because the government DEMANDED we allow the option which the dog world did to it's detriment
Do you people or the general PUBLIC know how many breeds are docked do you also know how many overseas countries are now considering reversing their anti-tail docking laws.
