Subject: TKGS NPCC : CAMPCRAFT CHAMPION 2004!

Hello guys! I realized this may not exactly relate to Sec 4/3, but I guess I just cannot contain my happiness. Needed to share with someone!

Refresh your memory back to 2000. Do you remember some NPCC girls during the earlier part of the year... slogging out on the quadrangle in the classroom block...pitching a tent and a flagpole? And sometimes trying to light this lamp? And they do it again and again? Nope? You don't remember? The main reason I guess is that despite 3 months of hard training, rain or shine, that particular team only achieved 3rd position nationwide.

Yup. It was very crushing indeed especially for me since I was in that team.

Fast forward to 2004 where I came back as a cadet inspector (CI) to try to redeem myself. (Did not really help train the 2002 team which got 3rd place again btw) Trained the 2004 team with my fellow CIs since Dec 2003... 3 months of thinking about new strategies to train and motivate 11 Sec 4 NPCC cadets who should be worrying about their O-levels... and trying to juggle my schoolwork and NPCC..

And the 2004 team did it. They beat Nanyang Girls', 2-time consecutive champion. Thanks to the team, I managed to feel a sense of redemption from the defeat I suffered which had haunted me for a very long time. I still remember that time...became too ashamed to even keep the 3rd-placed trophy I got... sigh.

Their victory was made much more sweeter by the fact that the principal actually came down all the way to Police Academy to support them. Can you believe it? NPCC, the practically non-existent uniformed group in school had the principal's support.

To the NPCC girls in the class i.e Faezah and Syikin... I hope you all realize the meaning of this... TKGS NPCC had just beaten 120 teams to become the best of the best. I'm in cloud 9. My inner turmoil gone, I'm ready to step down from the unit.

Back to your regularly scheduled programming.
